The Senior Manager Product & Engineering is responsible for driving the design product and technical build support and maintenance of a key product or limited product portfolio as well as the supporting technology capabilities and infrastructure that support that product in an Agile environment. Most often leading teams of 20 FTE with skip level employees and may lead teams of onshore and offshore contracting companies. Direct reporting line may include team(s) of Product Manager(s) Product Owner(s) technical and solution architecture DevOps management UI / UX Test as well as full stack Software Development.

Senior Manager is also responsible for attracting hiring retaining a high performing full stack team of Product Managers Software Developers architects other members of technical staff and Managers to support products and platforms. This role is also directly accountable for developing strong and positive relationships outside your direct teams with Customer or Customer representative teams partner organizations dependent engineering teams and supporting vendors.

This role leads critical platform capabilities within TMobiles API Center for Enablement and AI Center of Excellence supporting major business initiatives across Digital Retail and TMobile for Business. The platforms under this leadership serve billions of daily transactions underpinning digital experiences across Retail Care Sales and Partner channels. This position plays a pivotal role in enabling APIdriven integration realtime insights and scalable innovation for product launches and enterprise modernization efforts.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Effectively leads technical product and engineering teams to achieve results by providing appropriate direction timely developmental feedback and coaching tools to do job by role and conducting performance evaluations and conversations. Creating training career development plans and ensures assignments with increasing levels of responsibility Monitors and measures work tasks to ensure deliverables are provided on time and within budget.
  • Defines and drives continuous development practice improvements across technical subject areas and organizations (e.g. team structure roles processes tooling security & compliance).
  • Supervises technical relationships with multiple assigned vendors including driving features and function requests for inclusion in future product releases.
  • Driving and owning current and future state technical road map in collaboration with Design and Enterprise Architecture and building/maintaining cross organizational teams
  • Interviews and hires qualified managers and team members striving to improve TMobile bench strength and augmenting product or project teams with contract staff when required.

Education and Work Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree Computer Science Engineering IT or equivalent experience. (Required)
  • 710 years Relevant Product Management experience in an agile software product development environment. Required
  • 24 years Experience in a people leadership role. Required
  • 24 years Experience managing teams of 5 or more resources in direct reporting relationship in a Product Management organization. Preferred

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Agile Methodologies Proven success in delivering software with Agile Scrum methodologies and other commonly used tools. (Required)
  • Technical Writing Strong requirements elicitation and proven writing skills including the ability to write concisely and clearly for different audiences. (Required)
  • Agile Project Management Experience with Agile backlog/project management tools. (Required)
  • Collaboration Experience with successive elaboration and ability to develop Initiatives Features and User Stories that the DevOps teams can ingest. (Required)
  • Technology Experience in delivering large and complex business/technology initiatives. (Required)
  • Communication Proven ability to effectively and efficiently communicate with Leadership while employing a high degree of collaboration and influence.
  • Platform Modernization & Migration Expertise: Proven ability to lead sophisticated platform transitions ensuring feature parity scalability and minimal disruption.
  • Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Principles:Handson experience implementing HA/DR observability (e.g. OTel Splunk) and chaos engineering to achieve 99.999% uptime and operational resilience.
  • AIDriven Automation and Innovation: Demonstrated success in driving efficiency and scalability through AI/MLpowered developer tools predictive analytics and automated selfservice platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to present sophisticated technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences including executives and nontechnical leaders. (Required)
  • Business Analysis Strong analytical skills with demonstrated ability to identify/analyze/synthesizeproduct use data. (Required)

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) Scrum Product Owner Certification (CSPO) (Preferred)
  • Other Technical Certification Agile Certified Practitioner (PMIACP) (Preferred)

    Base Pay Range: $148000 $266900

    Corporate Bonus Target: 20%

    The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidates actual pay will be based on various factors such as work location qualifications and experience so the actual starting pay will vary within this range.

    At TMobile employees in regular nontemporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a yearend bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employees eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance.
