Drafts bills resolutions and amendments. Performs legal research and provides legal advice for legislators and committees. Codifies enacted legislation writes court case summaries and prepares annotations. Reviews proposed ballot measures for conformity with bill drafting requirements. Provides legal support for interim committees. This is a non partisan position.
This position is eligible for telework on a hybrid basis the employee must reside in Montana and be able to come into the office on a routine basis.Attorneys must be physically present on a fulltime basis during a legislative session unless there are special circumstances.
