$23.63 $34.18This position exists to perform accounting practices and procedures related to customer services to students and funding agencies for the collection of tuition and miscellaneous fees. This includes the maintenance of accurate accounting records of the various accounts which impact student transactions. This position is responsible for processing refunds to students and sponsoring agencies in accordance with College policies; assisting in the disbursement and distribution of grant and scholarship funds via BankMobile in accordance with the guidelines provided to us by sponsors; processing and distributing of State and Federal grant and student loan funds via BankMobile and calculation of Title IV return of funds when required; disbursing funds and maintaining the accounting records for the Student Senate Emergency Funding account. Respond to emails and phone calls to the Tuition Office relating to Tuition Office policies and Saint Paul College Card questions.

Backup for Financial Aid disbursement and Refunds
Backup for Federal Title IV Return of Funds
The salary range for the position is $23.62 $34.18 hourly
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in accounting or business or a related field (business finance or economics) OR three (3) years of accounting experience;
Customer service skills sufficient to answer phones appropriately handle or refer callers greet customers and forward to appropriate resource with respect professionalism and courtesy at all times;
Knowledge of current data entry procedures and ability to enter critical information accurately.
Effectively utilize a variety of computer applications including Word Excel Outlook and others to create and edit documents and reports;
Knowledge of spreadsheets in order to create compile data track and report findings;
Knowledge and ability to apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP);
Demonstrated commitment to work with diverse clients stakeholders and students fostering a diverse working and learning environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Five (5) years of accounting experience;
An understanding of good business practices as it applies to disbursements receipts and reconciliation techniques;
Knowledge of Statewide Integrated Financial Tools (SWIFT) accounting ISRS system;
Ability to develop effective working relationships and work collaboratively with colleagues;
Develop and maintain efficient and effective procedures for processing projects and to make independent judgments as they relate to specific job duties;
Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) sufficient to analyze interpret and prepare financial information records and reports; locate errors; and recommend solutions to procedural or other fiscal problems;
Clerical skills including spelling grammar typing and record keeping are needed to insure accurate input of information in the accounts receivable system.
