Position Summary
Assistant Principal of Academics in a Dual Language Immersion Program: 50/50 EnglishSpanish
Assistant Principal Responsibilities
- Assist the principal in developing and maintaining an effective educational program consistent with the philosophy policies and goals of the school.
- Assist the principal in the overall administration of the school.
- Enforce school policies and regulations.
- Support the principal in the collaborative development implementation and ongoing refinement of the schools plan through WCEA/WASC.
- Assist the principal in the transformation of the school culture into a resultsoriented collaborative learning community.
- Ensure the implementation of the Diocesan curriculum.
- Serve as principal in the absence of the principal.
- Assist in scheduling of classes and extracurricular activities students teachers and classes.
- Assist in the reporting and monitoring of student attendance.
- Assist in the maintaining of discipline throughout the student body.
- Assist with the Admission process conducting tours testing/evaluations.
- Assist teachers in evaluating methods and materials and developing effective learning plans and classroom management techniques.
- Maintain and model high standards of professionalism.
- Manage and communicate all standardized assessment information to parents and teachers.
- Assist the principal in the supervision of school personnel for the purpose of monitoring performance providing professional growth opportunities and achieving overall objectives of the schools curriculum.
- Participate in meetings workshops and seminars for the purpose of conveying and gathering information in order to lead Professional Development sessions.
- Act as an instructional coach to support teachers in lesson design and curriculum implementation.
- Assist in any other areas as determined by the principal as needed.
- Have a minimum of two years of successful administrative experience.
- Have a masters degree in educational administration and/or California Administrative
- Credential Preferred but not required.
- Have a minimum of 5 years experience teaching in a dual language school.
- Demonstrate leadership ability in past or present educational experiences.
