Duties and Responsibilities
*Serves as the HR Specialist in the UH Cancer Center HR Office and responsible for providing HR support to the supervisors related to UH and RCUH recruitment termination project distribution and other daily HR matters in compliance with the UH and RCUH policies and procedures.
*Assists with onboarding exiting and transfer of UH and RCUH employees.
*Responsible for maintaining and updating UH and RCUH HR records and reports in compliance with UH and RCUH policies and procedures.
*Assists in coordinating the Graduate Assistant hire contract renewals and terminations; responsible in advising the supervisors on UH policies pertaining to Graduate students recruitment eligibility and tuition waiver.
*Reviews audits and processes all requests as it relates to overtime overloads leave without pay workers comp employee benefits noncompensated faculty and all other personnel actions ensuring accuracy and completion on a timely basis.
*Assists in facilitating personnel and/or fiscal actions related to RCUH employees; guides RCUH employees by referring them to the appropriate RCUH policies and procedures and to their HR associates.
*Reviews and audits immigration documents of faculty scholars/exchange visitors before submission to the UH Faculty and Scholar Immigration Services.
*Prepares reviews and audits visa documents for J1 Student Interns before submission to the International Student Services (ISS) Office.
*Responsible for completing the UH Cancer Center fiscal required vacation payout spreadsheet and submitting G2 payout to UH Payroll and ERS.
*Monitors and updates tracking logs for HR transactions such as COI submissions noncomp appointments telework submissions training and other required transactions.
Manages and reviews onboarding/offboarding process including but not limited to internal onboarding forms processes UH Cancer Center tours scheduling new hire meetings.
*Streamlines internal HR processes to ensure that information is easily accessible for HR and management.
*Assists the Summer internship program (CREATE) with the initiation of RCUH recruitments timesheet reviews and providing guidance to the Interns for any other HR inquiry.
