We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Technician to join our team. In this role you will be responsible for ensuring the wellbeing and comfort of our animal guests as well as maintaining a clean and safe environment for them.
Responsibilities:
- Feed water and provide proper care to animals including dogs cats and other small animals.
- Clean and sanitize animal living spaces and equipment on a regular basis.
- Monitor animal behavior and report any concerns to the appropriate staff member.
- Assist with basic medical procedures such as administering medication and taking vital signs.
- Groom animals including bathing brushing and trimming nails.
- Provide exercise and socialization for animals as directed by staff.
- Assist with adoptions and animal intake as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of animal care and behavior.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience working with animals in a kennel or shelter environment is not required but it would be a plus..
- Knowledge of animal care and behavior.
- Ability to handle and restrain animals of various sizes and temperaments.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.
- Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds.
