What are we looking for
We are inviting applications for the fulltime French teacher and Education Assistant (Grades K8) position. This position will combine teaching and acting as an education assistant across all classrooms in our school. We are looking for a teacher who is passionate about working with gifted learners and understands their socialemotional and academic needs. Responsibilities
- Teach French to elementary students from Grades K8
- Plan and implement engaging lessons to teach students French language and culture
- Ability to implement assessment for as and of learning
- Report on students strengths and areas for growth
- Communicate regularly with parents about student learning and goals
- Nurture students academic social and emotional growth
- Participate in leading/coaching extracurricular clubs and activities
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate French in engaging ageappropriate ways.
- Provide inclass and small group support as an Education Assistant across grade levels.
- Lead and facilitate a drama/acting club for interested students.
- Support classroom routines transitions and student wellbeing.
- Implement individual support strategies.
- Assist with indoor and outdoor supervision duties as needed throughout the school day.
Qualifications
What you have to have:

BC Teaching Certificate
-
Bachelors of Education
-
Minimum 2 years of experience working with diverse learners including gifted students and students on the spectrum
- Background or interest in drama/theatre and leading extracurricular activities. This role will also lead our extracurricular drama/acting club.
- Strong interpersonal organizational and communication skills.

Experience supporting students in Grades K8 both as a teacher and an E.A.
