ORGANIZATION SUMMARY
Housing Forward formally known as Metro Dallas Homeless Alliance (MDHA) is a backbone organization that leads the development of an effective homeless rehousing system. In partnership with 90 public private and nonprofit institutions we make the experience of homelessness in Dallas and Collin Counties rare brief and nonrecurring. POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Manager of Housing Initiatives is responsible for project managing the major housing initiatives of the Continuum of Care (CoC). This position is critical to the implementation of infrastructure for the rehousing system and driving large scale system transformation. The Senior Manager mobilizes teams of external stakeholders around housing efforts and manages the performance of major housing initiatives initiated by the CoC which include Rapid ReHousing Permanent Supportive Housing and other programs as assigned. A successful candidate will bring skills in actionoriented facilitation strategic systemslevel thinking change management and project management.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the supervision of the Director of Housing Initiatives the Senior Manager of Housing Initiatives will:
Design and maintain workplans for rehousing related functions of the Continuum of Care
Project manage and implement major housing initiatives
Track and report progress on housing goals and initiate improvement strategies with key stakeholders
Assist and facilitate CoC housingrelated workgroups and assist them to organize track and facilitate the completion of tasks in service of CoC priorities
Stay current on leading rehousing practices and federal and local priorities for ending homelessness
Develop and maintain key stakeholder relationships
Manage and anticipate intersections between the Housing Initiatives Team and other verticals
Identify areas for improvement and provide coaching related to best practice housing interventions to service providers
Develop maintain revise and ensure adherence to CoC Housing Program Models Policies and Procedures and Written Standards
Provide training coaching and technical assistance to service providers as needed to improve housing outcomes
Complete grant and contract reporting as required including generating reports about initiative performance and missionrelated objectives
Participate in agency and community meetings as applicable to the role
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Experience with homeless and housing programs required
Ability to manage complex projects foresee challenges and resolve them efficiently to ensure project execution with limited supervision.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Word Excel PowerPoint etc.
Excellent communication and coaching skills
Experience managing a team with direct reports and providing performancebased feedback preferred
Ability to manage project budgets and resources within project constraints.
Experience in creating and executing change management strategies to achieve organizational goals
Experience in guiding discussions activities and facilitating planning sessions
Excellent planning and time management skills
Exhibits professional conduct when interacting with external stakeholders and across internal departments and teams.
Displays strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks and assignments including responding to urgent requests as needed.
Demonstrates high attention to detail.
Ability to work in a fastpaced environment.
Flexibility is vital; you must be able to perform well under pressure and consistently represent the values of the organization.
Acts in a selfdirected manner with little or no supervision.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors Degree in Social Work Human Services or Public Administration or similar field and/or a minimum of 5 years of work experience
Must have reliable transportation valid state issued drivers license and car insurance. Travel throughout Dallas and Collin Counties is required as needed.
Limited requirements must be able to maintain files and lift objects that weigh up to 25 lbs.
WORK SCHEDULE:
Housing Forward considers normal hours of operation Monday Friday from 8:00am5:00pm. Some night and weekend meetings might be required to meet the need of partner agencies or to represent Housing Forward at community meetings.
Employees are able to work both remotely and in the office. Current Housing Forward guidelines state that employees must work at least 3 days per week in the office but this is subject to change.
COMPENSATION:
The salary for this position is $75000 to $90000.
Housing Forward has a flexible PTO policy for all fulltime employees. The office is officially closed on New Years Day Memorial Day Independence Day Labor Day Thanksgiving Day after Thanksgiving Christmas Eve & Christmas Day. Housing Forward has MLK Jr. Juneteenth and Election Day as Days of Service.
