Hiring Bonus:
Offering a $2000 hiring bonus for new hires in this engineering and project management role. In addition there will be an additional $2000 bonus upon the successful completion of the 6month probationary period.

Job Summary:
The City of Greeley Water & Sewer Department is seeking professionals who are committed to providing water & sewer service for a growing dynamic community. As part of the Engineering Division you will work with other dedicated employees to enhance Greeleys leadership role in the Colorado water community. This is a junior to midlevel engineering position which will provide project management of multiple concurrent projects and working with senior engineers or operations staff. Areas of responsibility include planning permitting design construction of water and water resources infrastructure projects. Duties include the development of permits; project planning and design; construction management; management of consultants and contractors; coordination with stakeholders and the public; and project administration including costs schedule and quality management. This position requires a selfmotivated candidate with sound engineering judgment and problem solving skills who can work in collaboration with staff that will have substantial responsibility and opportunity for is a continuous posting that may be closed at any time with the first review of candidate applications to be held on May 30 2025.
This position will be primarily located in Greeley for the first two years and could be partially located in Fort Collins Greeley and/or Loveland Colorado in the long term.
Experience Knowledge Skills:
Minimum Requirements
- Valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record to drive for the City;
- Bachelors degree in Civil Environmental Agricultural or Water Resources Engineering or a closely related field;
- Skilled in software packages relating to GIS InfoWater InfoSWMM AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite;
- Experience in design construction and oversight of water or wastewater projects that include knowledge of the materials design methods and construction techniques used in the design;
- Experience in project tracking updating and report building.
LevelSpecific Requirements:
- 14 years of experience in municipal engineering or related work experience;
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification required.
- 5 years of experience in municipal engineering or related work experience;
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification required;
- Must have Colorado Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within one year of hire.
Preferred:
- Masters of Science degree.
OR
- A combination of related education experience certifications and licenses that will result in a candidate successfully performing the essential functions of the job may be considered by the hiring authority and must be approved by Human Resources.
Additional Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to manage Capital Improvement budgets select and implement procurement methods host construction management meetings; hold prebid and preconstruction conferences; and complete periodic field inspections change orders and invoicing;
- Knowledge of environmental permitting requirements including those regulated by the National Environmental Policy Act Clean Water Act and the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment;
- Communicate clearly in written and verbal formats;
- Work effectively with coworkers consultants government agencies contractors stakeholders and general public to achieve the citys objectives.
- Provide project leadership including time scope budget management and negotiating project scope of services and fee schedules;
- Manage multiple consultant and contractor contracts;
- Oversee project planning; permitting; project plan and specification development; invoicing; construction management; and construction inspection activities;
- Assist Engineering Development Review in defining development requirements based on governing codes and criteria in reviewing hydraulic/utility reports and in planning for the expansion of municipal nonpotable systems;
- Perform technical research; review work products for completed construction; evaluate alternatives; and provide reliable recommendations and advice in order to move projects forward;
- Periodically present projects and work products to coworkers or public meetings;
- Respond to requests for information and engineering assistance from coworkers other departments governmental agencies or the general public;
- Complete other tasks as assigned.

Travel:Local travel around Greeley with some travel to water treatment plants and transmission system located in Larimer County.
Work Environment andPhysical Requirements:
- The work environment is a combination of inoffice and field locations with frequent interaction with other staff and frequent participation in meetings;
- Exposure to all weather conditions and various types of noise when on project sites;
- Fieldwork involves working in and around construction projects with heavy equipment being used by contractors. Safety equipment such as hard hat reflective safety vest hard toe boots and safety glasses are provided and used as needed.;
- Position requires incumbent to be ambulatory;
- Mobility and manual dexterity to inspect work sites operate vehicles and use computer equipment;
- Vision enough to interpret written documents interpret engineering drawings and inspect work products;
- Communication skills to adequately convey information to contractors property owners other personnel and the public;
- Mobility to inspect work sites for compliance with plans and specifications and move over rough uneven or rocky surfaces;
- Manual dexterity to operate computer equipment and vehicles to accurately input retrieve and verify work assignments and use hands to finger handle feel and reach with hands and arms;
- Duties may occasionally require light to moderate physical effort including stooping kneeling crouching crawling frequent standing or walking frequently lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds;
- Extensive work is performed on a computer.
