Description

The OAM Supervisor position assumes responsibility for the daily operations of the Office of Access Management areas including direct supervision of the Scheduling Operations Specialists Patient Service Specialists Patient Appointment Service Specialists and Assistant Supervisor OAMs and other positions as assigned. The individual must apply professional supervisory and scheduling expertise exercising initiative and proficient organizational skills to perform a variety of duties in support of patients physicians employees referring providers external organizations and the institution. Works closely with practice leadership to partner in meeting and anticipating practice and access needs. Daily responsibility for patient flow and scheduling meeting quality and productivity metrics management analysis and reporting of appointment metrics. Actively responsible for the recruiting hiring orientation and training of work unit employees. Performs competency testing for staff conducts performance reviews and actively supports professional development of staff. Addresses employee performance and conduct and fairly enforce Mayo Clinic policies and procedure. Individual should be able to identify areas of improvement and implement solutions. Responsible for budget preparation and management. Demonstrates the ability to interpret and communicate relevant data and information. Exhibits confidentiality flexibility and accountability. Prioritizes heavy work volume for work unit in a fastpaced environment. Performs duties independently and initiates judgment in handling difficult or critical situations.



Qualifications

Associates degree plus 5 years of related experience or Bachelors degree with 3 years of related experience.

Additional Qualifications

One (1) year in a leadership role within OAM or three (3) years working within OAM preferred. Three (3) years of relevant experience including lead roles project management supervisory experience and highly skilled operational expertise is preferred. Three years of training experience preferred. Medical Terminology required. J Prior management experience and/or extensive knowledge of scheduling operations and Mayo Clinic policies and procedures are required. Must have demonstrated strong communication and interpersonal skills problem solving organizational ability flexibility willingness to participate and induce change to improve efficiency and patient care. Effective coaching mentoring and counseling skills are necessary. Must have knowledge of multiple electronic applications which supports scheduling operations and other computer experience is preferred. Able to perform all duties that are assigned under you.
