Overview
The Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine is recruiting a fulltime board certified/board eligible general pediatrician at the Assistant or Associate Professor level with strong clinical skills and an interest in academic medicine. The candidate will participate in clinical educational and quality improvement initiatives within the of skills such as professionalism teambased care care of children with medical complexity and effective communication are mandatory.
The Division is made up of a highly collegial wellestablished group of greater than 40 physicians 6 hospital medicine fellows and several advanced practice nurses. The Pediatric Associate in Hospital Medicine position will start as a 100% clinical role with schedule flexibility between days nights and weekends. The clinical practice is primarily at our tertiary care facility described will be additional opportunities to work at our CMH community site which is also included below.
Childrens Mercy Hospital is an urban tertiary care/academic childrens hospital with full pediatric medical/surgical support. The Pediatric Associate in Hospital Medicine will participate in 24/7 direct care on a hospitalistonly team comprised of medically complex and diverse general pediatric patients. Medical students may be part of the team.
Childrens Mercy Kansas is a unique freestanding community childrens hospital located 12 miles southwest of Childrens Mercy hospital serves a breadth of pediatric diagnoses with lower acuity than our main campus. Clinical service on this campus offers a complementary clinical experience featuring a professionally stimulating direct interaction with pediatric professionals in our busy onsite pediatric emergency department as well as in our community referral area.
