Living Sky School Division

Living Sky School Division is on the shared territory of Treaty 6. We are committed to building genuine relationships and creating a place where culture is affirmed ensuring everyone belongs. Living Sky is a progressive and innovative school division that employs over 800 professional and support staff. It offers a wide variety of programs and services to approximately 5500 students. The divisions 28 schools are in 19 communities located throughout west central Saskatchewan. The main office is in the city of North Battleford. North Battleford serves as a local center for health retail education and commercial services. The city offers easy access to several beautiful lakes and together with the town of Battleford is home to about 18000 people.

The school division is reinventing itself for the future and transitioning to a new organizational structure and way of operating (processes and culture). This is a major change for the organization and a shift from the way a typical school division operates. This shift will continue over the next few years and will require people who are dedicated to the journey to make it happen!

We are looking for a Student Services Coordinator full time (1.0 FTE) continuing contract to commence with the start of theschool year with an expertise in effective practices pertaining to diverse learning needs trauma informed education inclusive education and student wellbeing. Coordinating Learning Services collaborating with Student Services Teachers championing difference making Inclusion and Intervention Plans for students and supporting Educational Assistant training are a few of the priorities of the Student Services Coordinator.

Applicants must be collaborative organized and able to foster positive connections with other professionals families and community agencies. The successful candidate must possess well developed interpersonal skills and communication skills; be energetic; can take initiative work independently and act collaboratively with a positive and supportive attitude in a team environment.

The successful candidate must have at least 5 years experience as a Student Services Teacher or in a related role. Applicants must possess a Bachelor of Education degree from an accredited institution as well as post graduate certification in Special Education or be able to acquire certification within a set period of time. A Masters Degree in Special Education Educational Leadership Counselling or a related field would be a strong asset. Applicants must hold or meet the requirements to obtain a valid Saskatchewan Professional A Teachers Certificate.
