As part of the Protein Engineering & Novel Modalities team youll be at the forefront of designing and optimizing bi/multispecific antibody therapeutics collaborating with experts across the AZ Research organization. Accountabilities

• Lead collaborative workstreams with a diverse group of scientists across all therapeutic areas to ensure timely progress in research projects and drive technological innovations.
• Conceive design and execute the engineering of innovative multispecific antibodies with improved selectivity and developability.
• Conduct biochemical biophysical and functional characterization of antibodies and multispecific modalities.
• Prepare analyze and present data internally and externally.

Essential Skills/Experience

• PhD and 25 years of experience in Chemical or Biological Engineering Biotechnology Molecular Biology Biochemistry or other relevant scientific field with experience in protein engineering and/or bispecific antibody technologies.
• Extensive handson experience in molecular biology and antibody/protein engineering including; design expression purification and biochemical/biophysical characterization of various bispecific antibody formats.
• Proven ability to work independently effectively plan and organize work activities and prioritize task completion to meet project deadlines.
• Deep understanding of various imaging/multicolor flow cytometrybased instruments and data analysis programs.
• Comprehensive experience in tissue culture techniques and functional cellbased assay development.
• Demonstrated experience in optimizing/troubleshooting protocols with a problemsolving mindset.
• Track record of scientific innovation as evidenced by scientific publications patents and oral presentations at conferences.

Desirable Skills/Experience

• Understanding of protein and antibody structurefunction relationships.
• Experience in engineering antibodies with improved properties (e.g. affinity solubility and other attributes related to developability).
• Experience with bispecific therapeutics e.g. Tcell engagers ADCs checkpoint inhibitors.
• Background in antibody discovery using one of several displaybased technologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and effective presentation of complex scientific data to crossfunctional and senior management.

The annual base pay for this position ranges from $108473..40. Hourly and salaried nonexempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors including market location jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. In addition our positions offer a shortterm incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equitybased longterm incentive program (salaried roles)to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles) and commission payment eligibility (sales roles).
