Job Summary
Provides administrative operational and clinical responsibilities for all services in the facility on evenings nights weekends and/or holidays. Serves as the clinical resource person on patient care and services; acts as the patient care representative; collaborates with medical staff ancillary support and clinical services in order to ensure optimal patient care services and environmental conditions at all times. Responsible for notifying AdministratorOnCall of serious issues incidents and internal and external disasters.Essential Functions
Supervise patient care through verification of the use of the nursing process according to established nursing practices and patient care standards and provide direction and guidance to facilitate the nursing process.
Ensure appropriate intervention is demonstrated in all situations e.g. deterioration of patient condition disruptive behavior equipment malfunctions etc.
Serve as offshift patient care representative listen to patient or patient family members issues documents and complaints and investigate if required.
Conduct rounds of all patient care areas and define expectations for accurate reporting with emphasis on highacuity patients.
Collaborate throughout offshift with support services emergency admitting and clinical services to coordinate clinical patient care or environmental needs.
Follow through to ensure patients needs as well as environmental and safetyrelated issues are resolved.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelors Degree Nursing required and Masters Degree Nursing preferred
Licenses and Credentials
Massachusetts Registered Nurse License required
Basic Life Support required
Experience
Clinical nursing experience 57 years required and Lead nursing experience 23 years required
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Strong organizational and problemsolving/issueresolution skills.
Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills working with a diverse patient population.
Ability to anticipate challenges and develop and implement strategies for addressing them.
Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with all professional and support staff.
Proven ability to work independently.
Strong leadership abilities to provide guidance mentorship and education to others.
