This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Senior System Safety Engineerto join us onsite in Tucson AZ.

What You Will Do

  • As a Senior System Safety Engineer your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing one or more MILSTD882E compliant system safety programs

  • Performing MILSTD882 System Safety Program tasks and analyses involving management (task series 100) analysis (task series 200) evaluation (task series 300) and verification (task series 400).

  • Working across all integrated product teams and lines to properly eliminate hazards or provide effective controls.

  • Coordinating with customer safety representatives applying methods standards and techniques to provide clarification of system requirements to software hardware and test personnel to ensure design and architecture considerations are appropriately allocated to the system and horizontally integrated across the development teams.

  • Collaborating with Program Management and government approval authorities from program startup through production to demilitarization and disposal backgrounds.

  • Performing System Safety planning hazard analyses and design analyses

  • Briefing safety considerations at technical reviews and as part of the safety approval process

  • Interpreting system requirements customer specifications and military standards

  • Preparing internal and customer reports describing various analyses relevant to the System Safety program

  • Collaborating across multiple disciplines to gain a full understanding of product architecture and design

  • Interfacing with other engineering functions: Systems Engineering Software or Firmware Engineering Electrical Engineering Hardware Engineering

  • Managing System Safety Working Group(s) between key Raytheon and Customer representatives

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Requires advanced knowledge of work area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. May have practical knowledge of project

  • management. Practical to substantial knowledge of RTX projects programs or systems with the ability to make enhancements and leverage in daily work.

  • Typically requires:

  • A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience

  • Engineering/Other Technical Positions:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.

Required Security Clearance Secret

The salary range for this role is 82000 USD 164000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including but not limited to individual performance business unit performance and/or the companys performance.

This role is a role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
