Were opening the doors to our stateoftheart purposebuilt surgery in Whetstone in Summer 2025 and we want you to join us on our journey! We are keen to welcome a skilled professional Veterinary Receptionist to our friendly and dynamic team.

About us
Our Practice Owner Shweta Nakrani qualified as a postgraduate from The University of Liverpool in 2011 and is currently working towards a Certificate in Veterinary Colourful Consulting CertNCS (VetCons). Shweta has special interests in cat friendly practices soft tissue surgery but also Brachycephalic airway syndrome.

Shweta says: I am looking forward to building a new team here at Whetstone that has a supportive work culture with a proactive team attitude pathing the way to a friendly and happy work environment.

The brandnew surgery due to open in Summer 2025 is situated inside one of our stores and has been designed to deliver not only the highest clinical standards but also a pleasant working environment for the whole team. We are equipped with digital and dental xrays facilities theatre separate cat/dog/isolation wards as well as access to a very generous and large colleague room.

Our new practice can offer you the environment caseload and equipment needed to utilise the skills youve gained to date whilst also giving you plenty of opportunity to develop further. We are proactive in continually supporting qualifications and CPD.

Located in the heart of Whetstone our practice is wellequipped with stateoftheart facilities a loyal client base and a supportive team committed to providing exceptional care to animals of all shapes and sizes. Whetstone is a delightful suburban area in the London Borough of Barnet offering a harmonious blend of urban convenience and tranquil charm. Known for its welcoming community and excellent transport links Whetstone is perfect for professionals and families alike. The area boasts an array of local amenities including independent shops cafes and restaurants as well as larger retail options. Surrounded by picturesque parks and green spaces it provides an ideal escape for nature lovers.

For commuters Whetstones transport links are unbeatable. You can be in central London in no time while the nearby M25 and A1 make road travel a breeze. Yet youll feel worlds away from the city hustle as you unwind in the serene surroundings of green spaces.

We are open 6 days a week Monday Saturday (Monday Friday: 9am 7pm Saturday: 9am 6pm)

As a brandnew practice we are happy to offer full or part time hours. We understand the importance of a healthy work/life balance and so we are open to discussions and welcome you to come and talk to us about what shifts would work best for you. There will be some weekend work included but no OOH required.

This is a FullTime opportunity working up to 40 hours per week across 6 days. Previous experience in a customer facing environment is essential.

What your typical day will look like

  • Your focus is to provide an exceptional service to our clients and the best care possible to their pets providing a link between clients and the clinical team.
  • Your ability to build strong relationships with our clients their pets and the practice team will be critical to your success.
  • Your great client service during a clients visit will make sure that their absolute satisfaction is given and that the client leaves knowing that they have received exceptional service and look forward to their next visit.
  • You will greet each client and offer support guidance and expertise managing payments and future bookings confidently.
  • Coordinating the smooth running of the daytoday routines of the practice will be done using our online booking system so computer literacy is a must.

The attributes required:

  • You are the friendly and welcoming face for the client and their pets when they arrive at the practice.
  • You can provide guidance by keeping yourself fully uptospeed with the practice services and any additional services available.
  • You are calm attentive and always focus on the clients needs.
  • You will bring enthusiasm and drive to your role. Your passion for service is matched with your love of pets.
  • You can deal with everything that is thrown at you from comforting a client who has had some bad news about their pet or sharing in the joy of a new puppys first visit to the vet.
  • Your personality is infectious and along with your fellow colleagues you create a welcoming and friendly atmosphere in the practice.

In short you like to be busy enjoy helping people and their pets and always endeavour to make a difference.
