Marion County Adult Behavioral Health is seeking an experienced behavioral health RN to provide direct nursing care to adults diagnosed with serious mental illnesses some of whom have cooccurring substance use disorders. Duties include completing nursing assessments taking vitals administering injections providing support to our team of psychiatrists and psychiatric nurse practitioners and coordinating care and medications for individuals in service. Other duties include overseeing Behavioral Health Nurses and assigning daily duties to other staff. You will be working directly under the Nurse Program Manager and overseeing daily operations of the outpatient clinic working closely with the medical team. The ideal candidate will be compassionate detailoriented reliable and enjoy working with a team.

Workdays will vary depending on program needs but will typically be Monday Friday 8:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m. We hope that you apply so that you can join our talented treatment team! Individuals with diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

We offer the following recruitment bonus prorated based on FTE:

  • $2000 bonus for employees new to Marion County starting on January 1 2024 through June 30 2025. Bonus will be included in employees first paycheck.
For those relocating from outside of Oregon we provide the following relocation package:
  • Up to $3000 reimbursement of moving expenses
  • Relocation bonus in the amount of $3000 (prorated based on FTE) as a onetime payment upon proof of Oregon residency
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
Behavioral Health Nurse Senior is responsible for coordination of nursing services for identified Behavioral Health programs; serves as liaison and coordinator for the nursing staff consisting of RNs and LPNs; provides lead direction for Nursing Services including coordination of the work assignments quality assurance and problem solving.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Works under the general supervision of the Health Clinical Supervisor 2 or Medical Director who assigns duties establishes goals and reviews results.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED
Provides lead direction and coordinates activities of nursing positions.

Typical Duties Duties include but are not limited to the following

  • Coordinate and oversee nursing services in Adult Behavioral Health including work assignments quality assurance problem solving and continuity of services. Serve as liaison and coordinator for medical staff with counselors pharmacies residential facilities guardians/conservators primary medical providers hospitals and laboratories to facilitate the provision of drug treatment services. Administer medications and maintain records on consumers according to DEA federal and state laws.
  • Perform quality review of client records for ongoing utilization. Monitor methadone inventory for accuracy and completeness. Identify medical needs of clients and report to Medical Director. Assist in referrals to community. Educate consumers on health matters under direction of Medical Services Supervisor or Medical Director.
  • Provide consultation education and training to staff and other service providers in areas of medication intervention and other communicable diseases. Provide education to the public and consumers on health matters.
  • Complete clinical record documentation in timely fashion. Monitor for quality and accuracy of documentation for DEA Standards. Meet performance expectations for time and billing standards.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned by the supervisor including crosstraining in the Medication Assisted Treatment dispensary and providing occasional backup coverage as needed.
Response Level 2:In the event of an emergency employee makes a reasonable effort to report to work. Employee may be required to perform duties outside of their regularly assigned duties. Employee may be requested to work an extended or flexible schedule. Staff at this response level must complete Incident Command System 100 and 700 online or inperson training.

Requirements for the Position

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING

  1. Bachelors degree in nursing or a related field (e.g. health education psychology or social work); AND
  2. Two years of behavioral health nursing or other related experience; OR
  3. Any satisfactory combination of work education training or experience relevant to the position as determined by Marion County.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTSKNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Comprehensive knowledge of the practice of community behavioral health nursing organization of behavioral health programs; methods principles techniques and materials and equipment used in providing behavioral health services; agency policies and procedures state statutes and administrative rules for behavioral health programs. Ability to provide direction for professional staff; communicate effectively orally and in writing; establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff clients and other agency personnel; accept and utilize management direction and consultation.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Stands; sits; moves about the work area; bends forward; stoops; lifts pushes pulls and moves carts up to 10 lbs.; carries up to 5 lbs.; operates a keyboard; speaks clearly and audibly; reads a 12pt. font; distinguishes colors and shades; hears a normal level of speech; may traverse uneven areas when delivering meds.

PUBLIC SERVICE LOAN FORGIVENESS
Marion County is a qualifying public employer for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program. Through the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program fulltime employees working at the County may qualify for forgiveness of the remaining balance on Direct Loans after 120 qualifying monthly payments under a qualifying repayment plan. Questions about your loan eligibility should be directed to your loan servicer or the US Department of Education.

VISA SPONSORSHIP
Marion County does not offer VISA sponsorship. Within three days of hireyou will be required to complete the US Department of Homeland Securitys I9 form confirming authorization to work in the United States.
