PROCESS ENGINEER (MATERIALS SCIENCE METALLURGY or CERAMICS) (Permanent)
Our client an established manufacturing company in WNY is looking to hire a Process Engineer in Materials Science. This role will focus on process development quality improvement and production efficiency related to advanced materials. Responsibilities:
- Manage the manufacturing processes from inception through implementation
- Audit current processes to determine efficiency quality consistency and output identifying areas for improvement
- Implement adjustments to increase yield and quality of materials
- Utilize SixSigma DOE and other datadriven approaches to analyze processes troubleshoot issues and enhance production
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) with corresponding documentation to ensure consistency as tasks are performed
- Conduct rootcauseanalysis to identify where defects/inconsistencies are occurring throughout the manufacturing process
- Troubleshoot mechanical chemical and thermal issues/challenges
- Collaborate with production team members to implement preventative and corrective actions which will ultimately improve processes reduce downtime and increase productivity
- Identify automation opportunities within the plant
- Conduct research into suppliers/vendors to evaluate new materials/equipment for identify costsaving opportunities
- Analyze current costs cycle times and material waste to determine ways to reduce each
- Collaborate with various internal teams R&D Quality Production to ensure processes remain uptodate compliant costeffective and highyield
- Work well independently as well as part of a team
- Maneuver from one project to another with ease

Details:
- Position is full time direct hire
- Standard 40 hours/week 1st shift; 100% onsite
- $70000 $95000 annually depending on experience plus bonus potential

- 3 years experience in a process or manufacturing engineering role (preferably with a focus on materials manufacturing metals ceramics etc.)
- Bachelor s degree (in Ceramic Engineering Ceramics Materials Science Materials Engineering Metallurgy or Metallurgical Engineering) required; Master s degree preferred
- Possess an understanding of chemical processing or hightemperature processing of materials
- Experience with process improvement methodologies required: Lean Manufacturing Six Sigma DOE SPC etc.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues; implement corrective actions; process improvements
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Detail oriented with the ability to multitask/prioritize obligations
- Strong computer skills
