Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking a talented and experienced Arterial Operations Project Manager. This position can be located in the Tampa Bay Area or Fort Myers Florida. The Arterial Operations Project Manager will be located onsite at a Florida DOT TMC location.

Responsibilities include:

  • Actively monitor the system and other arterial ITS infrastructure analyze traffic data and recommend/perform actions to improve arterial traffic operations.
  • Provide recommendations to develop update and maintain signal timing information.
  • Prepare system performance reports.
  • Track and respond to system alarms to ensure system downtime is minimal.
  • Coordinate with the freeway operations staff in managing congestion on arterials caused from expressway incidents and special events.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders in managing congestion on arterials caused from special events.
  • Assist the signal timing agency staff in conducting traveltime delay runs and system finetuning activities.
  • Assist the signal timing agency staff in reporting results and effects of signal retiming efforts.
  • Assist in preparing monthly reports on the performance of the signal system based on predefined measures of effectiveness and other arterial reports.
  • Performance monitoring cost/benefit reporting and benchmarking of the arterial network.
  • Participate in progress meetings and other meetings as requested by the FDOT department.
  • All other tasks assigned by the FDOT department.

Qualifications :

Minimum:

  • BA/BS in an engineering discipline or other science technology engineering or math (STEM) disciplines and 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Experience with traffic signal systems traffic controller operation ITS and traffic engineering principles.
  • Experience with traffic signal analysis programs such as SYNCHRO HCS etc.

Preferred:

  • Experience and proficiency in leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience and proficiency in client and employee communication skills and work as a team member.
  • Experience and proficiency in independent decisions on a routine basis.
  • Experience and proficiency with writing technical reports and correspondence.
  • Experience and proficiency in coordinating realtime activities and priorities.

  • Relocation is an option for this position
