Job Description

GIS Technician is an entrylevel professional serving as a member of a team.  This individual identifies points lines and polygons with associated data related to the oil and gas industry wells mineral leases surface ownership and/or land grid. GIS Technician receives detailed instructions works on problems of limited to moderate scope and follows standard practices in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Acquire and interpret county and state level data using most cost effective and efficient processes to meet and or exceed budget requirements and currency guidelines
  • Plan and organize route for optimal data acquisition
  • Route Maintenance:  Provide supplies for requested data identify new sources for data acquisition and ensure the most update to date information for our data sources
  • Foster relationships with data source vendors
  • Capture best practices to ensure data deadlines are met based on current requirements
  • Process electronic data (CD FTP and Website) for integration into company proprietary software
  • Maintain teams Microsoft SharePoint OneNote and website lists
  • Distribute the finalized collection to Data Acquisitions QAQC process
  • Distribute final Quality Assurance / Quality Control output to internal customers
  • Excellent verbal and written interpersonal and business communication skills; strong collaboration
  • Strong Leadership and Mentoring skills
  • Well organized and efficient with keen judgment problemsolving and decisionmaking skills
  • Selfstarter able to work with minimal direction from management.  Understands need for lateral thinking; Displays willingness to adapt to new ways of doing business.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelors degree and/or certificate or equivalent experience with high school diploma 

  • Minimum of 1 5 years of relevant work experience in Oil & Gas Upstream data 

  • Able to work / be available a couple hours a day that overlap with US Business Hours is a must 

  • English Proficiency

  • ESRI 

  • GIS Knowledge 

  • Arc Pro 

  • Arc Map 

  • Arc Online
