Job Description
In this Position.
The PTO Resident Engineer will be the Liaison between Ford SE Michigan PTO (Powertrain Operations) Plants and VO (Vehicle Operations) Assembly Plants for base engine transmission and axle Quality issue.
Responsibilities
What youll do
- Liaison between Ford PTO (Powertrain Operations) Plants and VO (Vehicle Operations) Assembly Plants for base engine transmission and axle Quality issue.
- PTO Representative (onsite at VO) for all PTO Plants suppling product to VO Plant.
- Provide investigation / analysis of nonconforming base Powertrain components supplied by Ford PTO Plants.
- Assist with invehicle diagnostics for troubleshooting base Powertrain responsible Quality issues.
- Assist in timely recommendations and decisions on removals and replacements (Pulls) and/or repairs
- Provide timely reporting and documentation via REDCRS (Resident Engineering Defect Reporting System) of PTO concerns identified.
- Represent and support Quality action requests from PTO Plants such as part trials Stop Ships and Launch item assistance.
- Work with Powertrain PVT Incoming Quality and VO Plant Teams on base Powertrain issues.
- Visit PTO Plants on a regular basis to gain understanding of the processes.
Qualifications
Youll have
- BS or equivalent
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Ability to interface with all levels of salary and hourly teams
- Selfdirected with ability to support variety of tasks
- Strong skills in Powertrain diagnostics and troubleshooting
- Strong problemsolving skills using Quality tools
Even better you may have
- Bachelors degree in Industrial Operations Transportation & Logistics Supply Chain Management & Information Systems or Business Mgmt.
- Material Handling Supervision or assembly and machining experience desired
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles experience
- Knowledge of constraint management principlesexperience
- Successful candidate should be able to demonstrate leadership in One FORD (leadership) behaviors combined with outstanding interpersonal teambuilding and communication skills
