About the Opportunity
A new space race is underway and were seeking bold skilled engineers to help build the next frontier of space technology. Our client an exciting and fastpaced space company based in Denver CO is looking for a Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Engineer to lead the design and integration of electrical and mechanical test hardware critical to spacecraft development.
This role is ideal for engineers who thrive in handson environments enjoy solving complex technical challenges and want to see their work support missions that get to space this year.
Design develop and implement Ground Support Equipment (GSE) for spacecraft system verification and testing.
Define and architect modular scalable and upgradeable test racks for propulsion power thermal avionics and communications subsystems.
Collaborate across engineering teams to develop test requirements simulate realtime interactions and integrate HIL systems.
Implement and configure test setups integrating sensors actuators and realtime control hardware.
Troubleshoot test issues and support root cause analysis and resolution.
Maintain upgrade and document GSE systems under configuration management standards.
Produce technical documentation including rack designs test procedures integration guides and compliance reports.
Bachelors in Electrical Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (or related technical discipline).
35 years of experience designing and integrating GSE for spacecraft or highreliability systems.
Strong mechanical and electrical design experience especially with avionics and spacecraft subsystems.
Proficiency with CAD tools (AutoCAD SolidWorks CATIA) and rack layout design.
Handson experience with test equipment (oscilloscopes DAQs power supplies etc.).
Knowledge of communication protocols (CAN SPI UART MILSTD1553 Ethernet).
Programming proficiency in Python C or C# for test automation and data management.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently on complex projects.
5 years working on spacecraft or satellite GSE systems.
Experience with GSE for propulsion GNC thermal or power systems.
Familiarity with industry standards such as DO160 DO178C DO254.
Experience with Beckhoff or similar automation/realtime control systems.
Knowledge of EMI/EMC compliance and environmental test practices.
Startup or highgrowth environment experience where rapid iteration is key.
Background in automated testing frameworks and realtime simulation.
