Job Description

The Senior Manager Corporate Strategy (Innovation & Growth) will drive initiatives to uncover new market opportunities for Western Digital (WD) both within and outside of HDDs. This role will involve driving internal processes to incubate new product ideas and developing external partnerships to build WDs next new business opportunity.

This individual will have the opportunity to work across multiple functions in WD including but not limited to research and engineering manufacturing finance sales etc.

We are looking for a person with the initiative to run workstreams independently experience engaging senior stakeholders internally and externally and an extensive understanding of deeptech industries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Run deepdives on deeptech sectors to identify and incubate new business opportunities for WD such as quantum computing edge AI decarbonization medtech etc.
  • Design gotomarket strategies for new business opportunities
  • Collaborate with Sales and Platforms to unlock new HDD opportunities with nonhyperscale customers
  • Assist in the organization of WDs internal startup process
  • Partner CTOoffice and Corporate Development team to build out WDs multiplier network of universities national labs and venture capital funds.
  • Support Corporate Development team with deal sourcing and evaluation of nondata storage investments

Qualifications :

  • Bachelors degree in engineering required; MBA/MS from top tier university strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in strategy consulting VC/PE or investment banking. Hardware industry experience required (semiconductors energy medtech)
  • Proven leadership experience in corporate planning and growth initiatives.
  • Selfmotivated resultsdriven and adaptable to fastpaced environments.
  • Experience with industries related to advanced compute energy/decarbonization and medtech.
