The Office of Exceptional Learning is seeking a Vocational Coach/College Liaison for students in the Transition Program at Brockton High School for theSchool :Minimum of Bachelors Degree; Masters Degree preferred in Education Social Work CounselingExperience working with students with disabilities and their families (preferably transitionaged students 14 and above) in public school college settings and in the communityFamiliarity with the Brockton community including local colleges/universities and public transportationFlexible schedule to accommodate coverage/student schedules at colleges and in communityDuties and Responsibilities:Work collaboratively with the Transition Team and BPS staff members across special education programs for older students with disabilitiesWork collaboratively with community partners including colleges and state and local agenciesProvide direct service staffing to students attending college programsAttend students college classes/meetings/internships/activitiesDesign and provide academic support and coursework assistance to college studentsImplement students accommodations as set forth by college Disability ServicesSupport students in selfadvocacy in working with their professors/instructorsSupport students in gradually and safely developing skills toward independenceProvide travel/transportation training to students as neededCommunicate with students parents/guardians as neededCreate update and manage individual student schedulesCollect student data for progress monitoringRegularly update relevant BPS school staff on students college progress and related activitiesRegularly attend Board Meetings at colleges as BPS representativeAttend Special Education Department Meetings as neededAssist Transition Specialists and Job Coach as needed/assignedWork hours: 8 a.m. 3:05 p.m. Reports to: Assistant Director of Special Education for High SchoolsCompensation: According to contract Funding: IDEA Grant 0240All staff must have an updated CORI on any questions to Jami Langley at
