Evenings Nights Overnight team

The EVS Assistant Manager will be responsible for the overall operation of the EVS department. Oversee all cleaning responsibilities and floor care of the facility which encompasses the casino pavilion restaurants convention center and all back of house areas.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Directly supervises the supervisors on swing and grave shift and all Team Members on day shift. Develops and maintains high performing teams; achieves financial and company objectives and cost of sales control; ensures that guest service needs are identified and deploys resources to ensure proper guest service.
  • Confers with subordinate supervisors to assure maximum customer satisfaction and efficient utilization of manpower and facilities.
  • Reviews and initiates requisitions and expenditures to maintain and/or improve standards.
  • Prepares regular and special reports as necessary and is responsible for their timely completion.
  • Establishes and administers policies and procedures pertaining to the assigned departments ensuring compliance with all relevant legal requirements and Harrahs policies.
  • Provides the business office with accurate and timely information concerning regulatory and management requirements.
  • Research better methods and ways to reduce costs to achieve more favorable impact on departmental responsibilities and budgets. Implements and monitors internal controls for property protection of assets guest and employee security.
  • Counsels guides and trains personnel in the proper performance of their duties. Prepares and coordinates the periodic performance reviews of assigned personnel.
  • Recommends changes for assigned personnel including hiring promotion demotion and termination. Approves wage adjustments for personnel within established limits. Approves vacations and recommends leaves of absence where necessary.
  • Develops counsels guides and instructs supervisory and line level staff for personal and departmental growth/development.

The term management includes duties such as interviewing; training; selecting and adjusting rates of pay and hours of work; directing the work of employees; maintaining production; appraising employees productivity and efficiency for purposes of recommending promotions or other changes (evaluations); handling employees grievances and complaints; disciplining employees; planning work; providing for safety and security; and monitoring or implementing legal compliance matters.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • Three to five years of Environmental Services experience including leading teams
  • Excellent interpersonal customer service leadership communication team building and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability in maintaining consistent high quality guest service levels
  • Proven ability in writing documentation procedures and training employees to use new tools.
  • Must be able to effectively handle difficult situations and be willing to work any shift any day and long hours when necessary.
  • Must be able to get along well with coworkers and work as a team.
  • Must present a wellgroomed appearance.
  • Demonstrated ability in maintaining consistent high quality guest service levels
  • Ability to compile and analyze pertinent data needed for reports
  • Able to work all shifts and long hours if needed

WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to work independently along with a team mentality.
  • Must be able to bend twist turn push and pull as well as lift and carry above/below the shoulders a minimum of 25 lbs or more.
  • Must be able to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time or entire shift.
  • Must be able to work at a fast pace and in stressful situations.
  • Is able to tolerate areas containing secondhand smoke high noise levels bright lights and dust.
  • Must be able to read write speak and understand English.
  • Must be able to maneuver around office areas effectively work in high traffic areas and responds to visual and aural cues.
  • Mathematical abilities including addition and subtraction/accurate record keeping strongly required.
  • Must have the dexterity to grip and work necessary items (chips 10 key adding machine money bags computers money etc.).
