The George Mason University Department of English invites applications for Composition Adjunct Faculty. Located 15 miles from Washington D.C. The Composition Program is actively engaged in the development of curricular and pedagogical approaches that support George Masons different student populations and hopes to engage new faculty in this work. Its courses are part of a vertical writing curriculum that includes general education writing requirements at the introductory and upper levels taught by faculty in the Composition program Writing Intensive courses in the major and Synthesis and Capstone courses across the university. About the Position:
The George Mason University Department of English invites applications for Adjunct Faculty who can teach firstyear composition including multilingual students and international pathway students and 300level advanced composition facetoface at the Fairfax VA campus.
Responsibilities:
This position is a onesemester appointment with the possibility for renewal beginning Fall 2025. The department particularly needs faculty who can teach firstyear composition including composition for multilingual students and international pathway students (ENGH 100 101 and 123) and advanced composition (ENGH 302).
This position requires presence at the Fairfax VA campus. The position cannot be carried out remotely.

Please Note: Candidates must be able to attend professional development workshops held the week of August 11 2025 at the Fairfax VA campus. Minimum pay per course is $4000. Adjunct faculty can teach up to three sections per semester based on course availability and instructor preferences.
