Role description:
We are looking for a Principal Electrical Engineer with previous experience working in a consultancy environment to join our Places Design Practice. In this role youll be delivering elegant and efficient electrical design solutions on exciting and challenging projects for key clients.
We work with our clients around the world to create support and enhance smart safe and sustainable places where people live work learn and thrive. Places impact on the quality of peoples lives. Whether new homes shops workplaces schools and hospitals manufacturing research and development facilities or data and distribution centres. People and communities thrive when the spaces in which they live work move and play are designed and managed in a way that best meets their needs.
Role accountabilities:
Youll be responsible for leading the electrical design on larger projects working collaboratively with other design disciplines to ensure the integration of the overall design or solution. You will need to present complex technical solutions to clients.
As a Principal Engineer you will manage project teams with up to 10 people providing technical advice to team members to support them in their delivery on the project and in their professional development. You will manage the performance of team members and subcontractors identifying and ensuring the resolution of any issues.
Qualifications & Experience:
First and foremost you share our passion for improving the quality of life. You pride yourself for the part you play in transforming the world around you and understand the importance of teamwork. You come to us with:
- A BSc/BEng or MSc/MEng in Electrical Engineering or similar
- Chartered Engineer (CEng)
- Previous experience working in a similar role
- Prior experience working in a consultancy environment
- Ability to support and lead junior engineers
