GFL Environmentalis looking for a Residential Driver to join our Residential Collection team in Edmonton AB!
As a Residential Driver at GFL you will help maintain community cleanliness by collecting and transporting solid waste and/or recyclables to postcollection facilities. The ideal candidate is teamoriented shows a strong dedication to safety and customer service while effectively handling a physically demanding role. This position requires efficiently navigating multistop routes ensuring timely material collection and upholding a high standard of service.

Requirements:
- Valid Class 3Q (airbrake) or higher operators license with a clean 5 year commercial drivers abstract (must be within 30 days and submitted with resume)
- Strong physical ability to push pull lift and carry up to 75lbs
- Comfortable with early morning starts
- Must be able to demonstrate the ability to safely drive the truck and operate the equipment
- Candidates must meet the safetysensitive function criteria as established by company standards
Responsibilities:
- Operate a residential waste or recycling (side or rear load) hydraulic truck along with operating ancillary equipment and hydraulic systems from storage yard to collection routes and then transport to postcollection facilities and maneuver the truck through alleys lanes front streets etc.
- Physically load solid waste waste carts yard waste and/or recyclables into the collection hopper and return collection bins to their appropriate places when applicable
- Operate hydraulic hopper compaction controls to condense the hopper
- Identify and tag prohibited waste items and remove the items from the waste cart or can
- Manage assigned Helper(s) if applicable
- Ensure that all required personal protective equipment be worn at all times (i.e. gloves reflective vest safety glasses work boots etc.)
- Conform in all respects with applicable federal state/provincial and local laws regulations ordinances and other orders and to all company policies procedures and directives from supervisors.
- Preform comprehensive pretrip and posttrip vehicle inspections as well as daily truck reports route sheets and other documentation as assigned by management
- Use appbased routing software for realtime navigation and documentation of onsite issues
- Advise equipment maintenance personnel of collection truck malfunctions or associated mechanical problems
- Follow all safety standards and equipment checks and precautions in performance of all duties
- Assist with overflow routes as well as shop and yard tasks and any additional duties or responsibilities as assigned by management
