Construction Manager Reports To: General Manager Department: Commercial Construction Function: The Construction Manager is responsible for the effective execution of all construction field activities fabrication and warehouse operations. Essential Responsibilities:- Develop and implement Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to drive profitability.
- Develop and implement long range (312 month) plans to execute construction jobs on time.
- Ensure adherence to and recommendations for improvement to Safety policy and procedures.
- Establish and maintain manpower levels as needed to meet schedule with the highest quality.
- With the Superintendent(s) discipline team members as required.
- Develop and ensure implementation of fabrication schedule.
- Establish key metrics for the warehouse (inventory levels turns etc.). It is essential that the warehouse be organized following good housekeeping practices supplying field needs expeditiously and timely.
- Develop and implement ongoing training for Supervisors Foremen Journeymen and Apprentices.
- Ensure that company policy procedures and standards are met through all levels of production.
- Stay engaged and keep your team engaged with the construction community via associations trade events conventions etc. as needed to establish as a leader in the industry.
Additional Responsibilities:- Lead team process and execution of estimates and designs.
- Monitor department performance daily.
- Maintain coverage of all Masters licenses required for the company to perform its core business either via employment of those licensed individuals or by obtaining them yourself.
Qualifications:- Ability to read and understand documents such as safety rules construction plans and specifications.
- Ability to work efficiently given time pressures heavy workload requirements weather varying customer needs and demands and backlog constraints.
- Must be familiar with proper budget management techniques.
- 5 years of experience in a leadership role with oversight of a team/division/department in the commercial construction field.
- 2 or 4 Year college degree related to the commercial construction field including a degree in construction management project management civil engineering construction science or similar degree
Physical Requirements:- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Requires bending stooping and standing.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to handle heavy objects such as ladders tools equipment and other items needed to perform job function.
- Must be able to climb ladders and scaffolding.
- Good visual and spatial perception.
- Follow established safety policies including but not limited to mobile equipment PPE emergency response HAZCOM firstaid response etc.
