This position will support to the fish Research Evaluation Data and Decision Support (REDD) group. One of the objectives of the REDD group is to develop and evaluate innovative approaches to fish and fish habitat monitoring to improve efficiency provide better information to inform management decisions and resolve critical uncertainties for fish conservation and management.
As a Biological Science Assistant (REDD Project Assistant) in Corvallis Oregon you will:
Conduct field surveys to assess fish and fish habitat including fish specimen and genetic sample collections; fish population surveys environmental DNA surveys and field respirometry/thermal capacity
Be responsible for quality control of collected data
Write descriptions of sample site characteristics and site access information
Coordinating with other ODFW personnel and request permission for access from private landowners

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Minimum qualifications are not established for this position; however we are seeking applicants with the following experience or skills. Preference for interviews may be given to candidates with these skills and background:
Experience working with temperature sensors
Experience conducting field work in remote settings
Experience with collecting biological data
Data management and entry experience
Anyone who has or is in pursuit of a Fisheries or Wildlife Science degree or related degree in biological/ecological sciences.

The salary listed is the nonPERS qualifying salary range. If the successful candidate is PERS qualifying the salary range will reflect an additional 6.95%
