The Amherst Public School District is currently seeking candidates for Kindergarten Spanish Teachers at Fort River Elementary in our Spanish/English Dual Language program. This is a fulltime and schoolyear position.
Preferred Qualifications
A successful candidate will be enthusiastic about and committed to bilingual education and the program mission. The individual will demonstrate the ability to plan and implement a program of study that meets the individual needs interests and abilities of students in acquiring grade level content knowledge and Spanish Language skills. Furthermore the individual will create a safe and welcoming classroom environment that is conducive to learning develops students academic language and socialemotional skills and reflects the cultures of the student population. Successful candidates will effectively collaborate to meet diverse student needs.
Job Requirements
Applicants must hold a valid Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education license as a PreK 2 and/or K6 teacher. Applicants must be bilingual and able to teach all content in Spanish. Bicultural applicants are strongly encouraged to apply. Preferred candidates may also hold an additional license in any of the following areas: Bilingual Education Endorsement Special Education license ESL license SEI Endorsement or Spanish Foreign Language at the appropriate grade level.

Predictive Index Behavioral Assessment A short (710 minute) survey that reveals your natural strengths and work style.
Predictive Index Cognitive Assessment(if applicable) A 12minute timed assessment measuring your ability to learn and is not an IQ test and there are no good or bad scores.
