WHO WE ARE
Since 1993 The Pathfinder Network (TPN) has been providing justicesystem impacted individuals and their families the tools and support they need to be safe and thrive in our communities. We serve individuals experiencing incarceration those reentering the community those on forms of community supervision their families and their children within 9 of Oregons 11 corrections facilities and in the community in Multnomah Jackson Marion and Clackamas Counties. We develop and deliver a comprehensive scope of evidencebased trauma gender and culturallyresponsive cognitive behavioralbased programs including our proprietary evidencebased curriculum Parenting Inside Out which is the highestrated parenting skills curriculum for parents involved with the criminal justice system. Our community programs feature holistic wraparound individual and group support and services. We serve an average of 3000 people a year agencywide.

WHAT YOU WILL BE COUNTED ON TO DO
Studies have shown that women and people of color are less likely to apply for jobs unless they believe they meet every one of the qualifications as described in a job description. We are most interested in finding the best candidate for the job and that candidate may be one who comes from a less traditional background.
The Childrens Activities Provider supervises leads handson prepares and provides activities and monitors the safety for children (ages 6 weeks and up) with trauma exposure during parenting classes and for families during family events.
Responsibilities
- Create and provide structured activities and care for children ages 6 weeks and up during classes and family events.
- Set up childrens activities room prior to each class and family event. Set up includes vacuuming and wiping down tables chairs and toys when needed.
- Assist with class preparation and setting out of meals. Provide back up for meal preparation as needed.
- Keep childrens activities room clean and orderly and clean room at the end of each shift.
- Assist with closing the Center after each shift which includes taking trash out putting food away and locking doors.
- Assist with taking inventory of childrens activities materials and keeping pantry organized and clean.
- Maintain notes for each evening of childcare and communicate important information to Childrens Activity Team.
- Maintain professional standards and boundaries.
- Engage in compassionate professional and clientoriented behavior in carrying out the duties of the position.
- Attend staff meetings and required training.
- Act as a mandatory reporter of child abuse.
- Assist Family Support Coordinator as directed.
- Other duties as assigned.

Experience and skills we are looking for
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Experience in the care of infants and/or small children (paid or unpaid) ages 6 weeks and older
- Experience working with children with special needs preferred
- Experience working with diverse populations preferred
- Basic level computer capabilities in use of databases webbased environments word processing email and spreadsheets.
- Must pass a background check employment verification and drug screen (which does not include testing for marijuana).
*Referral bonuses are payable after 60 days of employment to new employees in good standing who hold the required certifications. New candidates should specify in the job application who they were referred by and the community member will also complete this form.
OTHER INFORMATION
Working Conditions/Travel Requirements
This job operates within a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers phones photocopiers filing cabinets and fax machines. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
The Pathfinder Network follows public health guidance for any public health emergencies and will remain in compliance with any vaccination or isolation requirements from partner agencies.
The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop kneel crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
This is a parttime nonexempt position working 14 16 hours each week. Days and typical hours of work are Monday through Thursday 4:30pm / 5:00pm to 8:30pm. Some weekend work may be required.

Compensation and Benefits: This is a nonexempt parttime position. The hiring range for this position is approximately $20.00 $20.60 per hour. Pay offers are determined in conjunction with an internal pay equity assessment.
