Tax Staff/Experienced Tax Associate Public Accounting Firm
Job Type: FullTime
Department: Tax
Reports to: Tax Manager or Senior Tax Accountant
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detailoriented and motivated Tax Staff Accountant to join our growing tax team. The ideal candidate will assist with preparing federal state and local tax returns perform tax research and support clients and internal teams with compliance and planning.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare individual corporate and partnership tax returns
Assist with tax planning and consulting projects
Maintain client relationships and respond to inquiries in a timely manner
Research tax issues and summarize findings
Keep up to date on current tax practices and changes in tax law
Assist with audits and respond to IRS/state notices
Ensure accuracy and compliance in all tax filings
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field (required)
CPA or CPA candidate preferred
14 years of tax or accounting experience (internships count)
Familiarity with tax software (e.g. CCH Axcess ProSystem fx UltraTax)
Strong Excel and general computer skills
Excellent analytical and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
