Job Summary

Owensboro Community and Technical College (OCTC) is seeking a motivated and relationshipfocused individual to serve as a High SchooltoAdult Matriculation Recruiter. This shortterm parttime role is part of an innovative initiative to expand the colleges reach by increasing the matriculation of recent high school graduates into OCTC programs. The recruiter will leverage experience as a high school guidance counselor to engage and enroll adult learners who have recently graduated within OCTCs fourcounty service area (Daviess Ohio McLean and Hancock counties). This is a grant funded position for the period of May 27 Aug. 1 2025.

Job Duties:

Serve as a dedicated recruiter focused on recent high school graduates who have not yet enrolled in college.
Collaborate with local high school counselors administrators and community partners to identify and engage prospective adult learners.
Conduct outreach campaigns including direct communication (calls emails texts) presentations and small group meetings with prospective students and their families.
Create and execute an individualized recruitment plan and communication strategy in coordination with the START Center and Student Affairs leadership.
Maintain accurate records of outreach efforts and student interactions in compliance with college procedures.
Assist prospective students through the enrollment process including application submission and initial course registration.
Evaluate progress weekly and participate in team meetings to assess effectiveness and adjust strategies as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

A bachelors degree in marketing/communication education or similar with one (1) year of relevant work experience is required or equivalent.
OR associate degree in marketing/communication education or similar with three (3) years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Former or current high school guidance counselor or similar student services background is preferred.
Experience working within or familiarity with the Daviess Ohio McLean or Hancock County school systems is preferred.

Additional Skills Requested:

Strong organizational skills; attention to detail; selfmotivated; able to work in a fastpaced changing environment.
Excellent interpersonal skills: ability to communicate with many individuals at all levels throughout the internal college environment and external business and community partners representing himself/herself professionally and courteously.
Must have proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word Excel and Outlook).
Strong knowledge of the educational and career planning needs of high school graduates.
Familiarity with the college admissions process especially for nontraditional or adult learners.
Passion for helping students access higher education opportunities.
