Responsible for the engineering planning and design of controls and power systems for water and wastewater treatment plants. Production of contract documents including engineering plans and design specifications in accordance with NFPA 70 NFPA 70E IEEEand NFPA 820 UL508A UL1995; develop projectspecific specifications I/O lists control narratives instrumentation and control plans specifying instrumentation control panel hardware and PLC systems; work with engineering teams to develop and review P&IDs; develop wiring diagrams electrical interconnects panel layouts junction box design PLC design plot plans loop diagrams I/O lists P&IDs cable/conduit schedules electrical and instrumentation details; design building lighting using AGI32; prepare construction and design cost estimates; provide construction services including submittal review of control panels instrumentation and controls review of process equipment; perform interfacing with 480 V and below power electrical equipment (MCC and motor controls transformers ASDs) and calculations; conduit fill voltage drop transformer sizing feeder/conductor sizing panelboard and breaker sizing; conduct site visits during project design and construction phases and assist with commissioning services. Mentor and guide EngineersinTraining (EIT) interns and draftsmen. Responsible for project management client interface and business development for future projects. Position duties require extensive utilization of Electrical 2D CAD Software (Draftsight) SKM AGI32 SolidWorks Electrical EAGLE PCB Design Software and Bluebeam. Position requires approximately 10% travel time to project sites in Texas and Oklahoma.
Minimum requirements: Bachelors degree in electrical engineering followed by minimum five years of progressive experience either in the duties of the position offered or in the design of controls and power systems in accordance with NFPA 70 NFPA 70E IEEEand NFPA 820 UL508A and UL1995 utilizing Electrical 2D CAD Software (Draftsight) SKM EAGLE PCB Design Software and Bluebeam. Required exp. must include development of projectspecific specifications I/O lists control narratives specifying instrumentation control panel hardware PLC systems cable/conduit schedules electrical and instrumentation details performing power systems studies and harmonic analysis conducting site visits and performing commissioning services. Up to two years of required experience may be satisfied by a masters degree in electrical engineering. Professional Engineer license for State of Texas is required.
