Job Description
QTEC Aerospace is seeking SOFTWARE ENGINEERS to join our team of professionals in Colorado Springs CO. The successful candidates will become part of a team of professionals representing both industry and government in support of a Missile Defense System (MDS) with a mission of protecting the United States and our allies. The successful candidates will be detail oriented have a proven track record and a positive work ethic.
Job Summary
QTEC Aerospace is looking for highly capable and motivated individuals. The successful candidates will function as an integral member of a multicontractor team providing program engineering and technical support to Missile Defense programs. The selected candidate will support the U.S. Missile Defense System through the development of Modeling and Simulation applications used in warfighter training and exercises concept evaluation developmental engineering testing and verification and assessment. The candidate will support the project as part of a team and will design develop test document and integrate features using C and/or Java programming language hosted on a Linux operating system.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include but may not be limited to the following:
- Design and develop software to model various Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) element capabilities
- May interface with customers and present technical briefings to stakeholders
Minimum Education and Experience
- Bachelors degree in a STEM (Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and:
- Entry Level: 0 years of related experience
- Juniorlevel: 2 years of related experience or a Masters degree in a STEM discipline and at least 0 years of related experience.
- Midlevel: 5 years of related experience or a Masters degree in a STEM discipline and at least 3 years of related experience.
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Software development in objectoriented programming languages such as C C or Java
- Understanding of a software development life cycle
- Knowledge of/experience working in agile software development methodologies like Scrum or Kanban)
- Should thrive in a fastpaced work environment with high expectations significantly diverse assignments collaborative/team settings across all levels
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% to support business needs
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including ability to collaborate with crossfunctional teams and prepare and brief presentations to the customer as needed
- Selfstarter with ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Desired Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- C or Java software languages within a Linux environment
- Experience in software development including analysis design code test and integration
- Experience in Atlassian Tool Suite
- Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
- Knowledge or experience in several of the following: missile defense domain knowledge infrared space surveillance and modeling and simulation development
Security Clearance
Candidates must currently have and be able to maintain a minimum DoD SECRET level security clearance.
Salary Range
The below salary range represents a general guideline; however QTEC considers a number of factors when determining base salary such as the scope and responsibilities of the position as well as the candidates experience education skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
Salary Range: $80000 $165000
