Desirable Qualifications
Expertise in culturally responsive teaching in biology particularly as it relates to the relevance of biology to students lives interest and communities; demonstrated ability to address equity gaps of racially minoritized groups within biology. Experience successfully working in collaboration with fulltime and adjunct faculty in coordinating and maintaining currency of curriculum that responds to the needs of historically underrepresented students. Demonstrated success in helping students from historically underrepresented and/or marginalized groups nontraditional students speakers of other languages and students with learning disabilities.
Minimum Qualifications
Masters in any biological science OR Bachelors in any biological science AND Masters in biochemistry biophysics or marine science OR Possess a valid California teaching credential authorizing service in a community college in the appropriate subject matter area; OR The equivalent. Equivalent qualifications may include related education training employment and professional experience that would be equal to the required degree(s) and experience in this field as determined by the District Equivalency Committee.
