Job Title:Career Advisor I
Location: Onsite San Antonio
Employment Type:Longterm 6to12month assignment temporary to hire.
Position Summary:
The Career Advisor I (CA) is a key member of the workforce development team. This role provides personalized career counseling and coaching to assist customers in enhancing their skills and obtaining meaningful employment. The CA plays a vital part in expanding employment opportunities for job seekers through strategic career exploration and planning.
Essential Functions:
- Conduct comprehensive career assessments for a broad range of individuals from professionals to those with significant barriers to employment
- Evaluate job seekers training and development needs vocational skills employment history and interests to support longterm career planning
- Empower and guide job seekers by recommending appropriate workforce programs and services at the local state and federal levels
- Manage intake processes and determine eligibility for grantfunded workforce programs
- Provide support in career development areas including occupational exploration aptitude assessments resume building interview preparation and career planning
Education & Experience Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GEDrequired
- Associate or Bachelors degreepreferred
- Previous experience in workforce development career counseling or a related field is a plus
- Valid drivers license and proof of insurancerequired
- Bilingual in English and Spanishstrongly preferred
