Second in Charge of English (2iC English) Hounslow September 2025 Start
A highperforming secondary school in Hounslow is hiring a Second in Charge of English (2iC English) to join their team from September 2025.
This Second in Charge of English (2iC English) role is perfect for an experienced English teacher whos ready to take the next step in their career. Youll work closely with the Head of English to deliver highquality teaching support curriculum development and lead on interventions that raise attainment across KS3 and KS4 (with some KS5 possible).
The school is looking for a Second in Charge of English (2iC English) who is passionate reliable and confident in their teaching. As 2iC English youll also support with staff mentoring literacy initiatives and subject planning to improve outcomes across the department.
Second in Charge of English (2iC English) Key Responsibilities:
- Help lead the English curriculum and assessment strategy
- Mentor junior staff and support classroom development
- Monitor student progress and plan interventions
- Lead on a focus area such as KS4 or literacy
Person Specification:
- UK QTS and a degree in English or a related subject
- Strong classroom experience across KS3KS4
- Prior mentoring or leadership experience is a plus
