You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailWe are looking to recruit a permanent part timeLibrary Assistant to join our Education team to deliver a highquality library service working with customers colleagues and the prison service.
Based from HMP Highpoint our Library Assistantsare responsible for carrying out routine library duties such as lending shelving developing displays and supporting customers with diverse library and information requirements under the direction of our Library Manager.
The role provides a support service to customers to assist with their reading choices and online services and is responsible for handling queries signposting appropriately and providing guidance and direction to enable customers to locate the required information. The role also contributes to outreach library services events and programmes.
This is a part time role 12 hours a week.
What are we looking for
You will need to demonstrate high ethical standards take personal accountability for everything you do and always want to be the best. You should hold GCSE or equivalent qualifications in Maths and English and be able to demonstrate your ability to use a range of IT skills including use of internet browsers and Microsoft Office.
You will have an interest and awareness in current publishing trends reader recommendations and titles for a variety of ability levels as well as an understanding of customer service principles and practice. Experience of working within a custodial environment and experience of creating learning resources is desirable.
