Job Description

Responsibilities

We are looking for a PROJECT MANAGER in the NOVA area (Northern Virginia).

Position Summary: The manager works collaboratively with Sales End Market Leaders and other key stakeholders to ensure coordination of effort resources and project execution. The manager oversees the recruitment process conducting interviews to assess technical safety knowledge competencies soft skills and leadership qualities. This role involves managing resources and hiring activities facilitating smooth project transitions and providing regular updates to stakeholders to ensure project excellence and proactively address performance concerns.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Identify quality talent by interviewing prescreened candidates to evaluate their technical safety knowledge competencies soft skills and leadership abilities.
  • Ensures project delivery excellence for all projects that fall under assigned area of responsibility.
  • Communicate regularly and consistently with key stakeholders and client/project representatives to ensure service satisfaction and proactively identify concerns before they become irreparable issues.
  • Address employee performance concerns proactively consult with appropriate stakeholders for assistance and support client with planned and unplanned Client Directed Removals (CDRs) and Haztek Directed Removals (HDRs).
  • Work with Resourcing and Demand and other appropriate stakeholders to ensure smooth transition of personnel at the project level which includes crosstraining CDR/HDR coverage and filling routine voids (Paid Time Off project start) in coverage when necessary.
  • Create a work culture that fosters trust fairness consistency and sharing ideas by modeling the companys Core Values communicating clear expectations and taking advantage of every touchpoint.
  • Forecast future hiring needs based on the sales pipeline historic trends and other business conditions and initiatives.
  • Communicate and coordinate hiring needs with Logistics Operations Recruiting and other key stakeholders.
  • Ensure profiles are created and present resources to the client in a timely manner.
  • Articulate HazTeks value proposition as a career opportunity for prospective employees including salary benefits growth opportunities and career paths.
  • Make all final hiring decisions present verbal offers finalize salary negotiations and other terms of employment and establish new employees start dates.
  • Reward and recognize employees for their contributions.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Five (5) years of experience in a role that managed 10 or more individuals
  • Three (3) years of experience in a project management role
  • Three (3) years of experience in managing the full employee employment life cycle

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in business administration or related field or a discipline related to environmental health and safety or equivalent experience in a sale/business development role and/or delivering health and safety services
  • Experience with Salesforce CRM
  • Experience or demonstrated subject matter expertise in one or more construction activities including but not limited to Fall Prevention Trenching/Excavation Cranes/Riggin Electrical Safety/NFPA70E Scaffolding/Stairways/Ladders Confined Space Entry Hazardous Energy Control (LOTO) and Mobile Elevated Work Platforms
  • Industry certification (e.g. CSP ASP CHST OHST STSC STS)

Qualifications:

  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office (Outlook Word Excel PowerPoint) and ability to use various databases and other industry systems
  • Excellent knowledge of OSHA 1910 or 1926 regulations ANSI standards DOT USACE and similar safety and health regulations
  • Excellent interpersonal skills (listening understanding the message and providing a useful response)
  • Excellent critical thinking and problemsolving skills (interpreting evaluating and analyzing facts to form a judgement)
  • Excellent conflict resolution and problemsolving and decisionmaking skills
  • Excellent creative and critical thinking (interpreting evaluating and analyzing facts to form a judgement) skills
  • Ability to effectively use a variety of virtual technologies
  • Ability to build and lead individuals and teams
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing situations
  • Ability to influence and inspire change through relationship building and data supported decisions
  • Ability to be flexible when dealing with a variety of stakeholders
  • Ability to apply knowledge about business and confidence to act (Business Acumen)
  • Ability to complete critical aspects of the job within appropriate scope time and impact
  • Passion and high energy as related to driving business performance
  • Valid drivers license

TRAVEL & OTHER

  • Travel throughout assigned client geography as needed
  • Overnight travel less than 10%
  • Early mornings long days nights and weekends are all required as workload deadlines and assignments dictate
