What you get to do:

The SVP Project Delivery is the lead executive responsible for leading and executing all construction and Capex projects across the organizations multiple brands and locations. The SVP will play a key role in United Parks & Resorts (UPR) growth strategy as it leads the development of new attractions hotels & resorts park expansions acquisitions and new domestic & international park projects. This position will lead the teams that oversee development and implementation for all capital projects from programming scope estimate schedule creation and alignment with UPRs business needs and operational requirements through the fabrication and construction of custom worldclass assets and the technical and operational commissioning of major attractions. The SVP will maintain & advance UPRs position in the themed entertainment amusement waterpark & zoological industries as well as provide critical technical leadership along with safety and risk management expertise across the organization.

More specifically the SVP Project Delivery will:

• Provide oversight technical direction and project controls as well as collaborating with design leaders and development efforts construction estimating scheduling and full project execution to support UPRs capital development strategies.
• Collaborate closely with the CEO Senior Leadership Team Park Presidents as well as other internal stakeholders UPRs Board of Directors plus external partners and consultants to ensure alignment with the Companys requirements & strategies.
• Fulfill the role as a subject matter expert for construction and engineering influencing overseeing and implementing the capital investment plan for UPR theme parks and other strategic growth opportunities.
• Direct the advancement of new and innovative attractions. Manage the construction process by which new products and attractions are built (i.e. technical/engineering design guest experience planning infrastructure assessment and planning operational planning specialty requirements rides shows animals IPholder compliance etc. and all other technical aspects of project development) for internal and Board of Director approval.
• Lead and guide a diverse group of talented professional technical and creative resources both at the corporate office within each parks Design & Engineering team as well as external designers vendors authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs) and contractors.
• Acquire manage develop and retain creative and technical talent. Balance project resource needs with staff responsibilities and commitments. Provide development mentoring performance feedback and guidance to staff and establish succession plans for key department positions.
• Oversee and abide by UPR Design & Engineering department policies and procedures including established processes standardized documentation and all other company policies as well as direct that all work complies with associated standards codes and regulations.
• Develop and maintain key industry relationships with architectural & engineering professionals creative/thematic firms and associated resources construction and project management professionals

What it takes to succeed:

• Fifteen plus years combined experience in the construction and project management for complex multimilliondollar projects.
• Extensive experience leading teams of project managers architects engineers plus finance marketing operations revenue legal & other professionals providing expertise and guidance in the advancement of projects.
• Extensive experience with the planning development and construction of projects from the hospitality theme park attractions travel or other related types of industries.
• Possesses a degree preferably a Masters or equivalent level qualification in construction management engineering architecture or related field.
• Fluent in construction and engineering industry terminology systems and software.
• Is at the forefront of industry innovations and has demonstrated knowledge of the latest design valueengineering trends and forthcoming environmental practices.
• Demonstrates methodical problemsolving skills using an analytical perspective that includes industry knowledge and experience resulting in sound judgement and final decisionmaking within tight timelines in a fastpaced environment.
• Demonstrates very strong interpersonal skills and has the ability to work with business partners and colleagues from diverse cultures.
• Works with colleagues in a collaborative manner and has the entrepreneurial spirit that will be required to be part of an exciting and new strategic venture for the organization; willing to rollup sleeves and be very handson.
• Possesses excellent communication and presentation skills both oral and written.
• Proven track record of budgeting and forecasting projects on time and under budget.
• Demonstrate adaptive leadership and with the ability to pivot in a fastpaced environment.
• Interacts and maintains positive working relationship with general contractors project managers designers architects and consultants who are overseeing development projects.
• Works with colleagues in a collaborative manner and has the entrepreneurial spirit that will be required to be part of an exciting and new strategic venture for the organization; willing to rollup sleeves and be very handson.
