Job SummaryNorth Central Ohio ESC is seeking a dedicated and passionate Preschool Intervention Specialist to join our team. The Intervention Specialist will provide specialized instruction and support to preschoolaged children with disabilities. This role requires collaboration with families staff and other service providers to create a nurturing developmentally appropriate environment that promotes the success of every child. Complies with state and Federal laws pertaining to the education of students with disabilities.
Key Responsibilities:Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for preschool students with diverse needsProvide direct instruction interventions and support in line with the Ohio Early Learning and Development StandardsCollaborate with general education teachers paraprofessionals and related service providers to deliver inclusive learning experiencesConduct assessments to identify students needs monitor progress and adjust instruction accordinglyFoster a positive and supportive classroom environment to promote social emotional and academic growthMaintain consistent communication with families to provide updates on student progress and engage them in the educational processDocument and report on student progress in accordance with district state and federal guidelinesParticipate in professional development opportunities and remain current on best practices in early childhood and special educationMinimum QualificationsValid Ohio teaching license with a Preschool Intervention Specialist endorsement or Early Childhood Intervention Specialist licensureKnowledge of Ohios Early Learning and Development StandardsExcellent communication collaboration and organizational skillsProficiency with use of technology hardware and basic software (i.e. Microsoft office) email and office equipment (i.e. copier fax scanner telephone etc.). Proficiency with webbased applications (i.e. Google Docs DEWs website social media etc.) and NCOESC databasesAbility to preserve confidentiality of student information and recordsMay require successful completion of communicable disease child abuse updated physical CPR first aid CPI and/or behavioral management training or other training as needed Clearances Criminal justice fingerprint/background (FBI/BCI) and public health clearances.Physical Requirements & Working ConditionsThe performance of this job requires constant talking and hearing engagement in repetitive motions and eye/hand/foot coordination. This job requires occasional standing walking sitting lifting carrying pulling climbing stooping kneeling crouching crawling reaching handling grasping and feeling.Performance of primary duties takes place in a school environment with occasional exposure to adverse environmental conditions including extreme heat & cold temperature changes wetness humidity noise and hazards. Frequent light to moderate physical effort required.
