Position Overview and ResponsibilitiesSt. John seeks a parttime (0.2 FTE) High School Chorus teacher for theschool year to teach one section of chorus. Chorus meets on Monday Tuesday Thursday and Friday mornings from 7:20 am 8:00 am. The St. Johns Prep Chorus affords students the opportunity to prepare and perform a wide range of choral repertoire including classical music folk songs jazz spirituals contemporary music and world music. We seek a teacher who actively engages students in the creative process is intentional in building community within the ensemble and promotes positive risktaking through the study and performance of vocal CompetenciesContent Expertise: Has experience teaching voice and directing choral groups. Communication Skills: Communicates consistently and effectively with parents students and Mindset: Commitment to multiculturalism and diversity that is manifested in classroom practice communication and : Must display a deep appreciation for studentcentered engaging and innovative teaching : Each teacher regularly collaborates with colleagues concerning best practice in an effort to meet the learning needs of all students.
