Job Description
Thompson Automotive Group is hiring an Apprentice Technician! We are looking for individuals that would like to grow and learn with real world experience. Save your money on school and invest in your future as a Master Technician. This position is an entrylevel position responsible for assisting experienced technicians with a variety of tasks including: inspecting and testing vehicles performing basic repairs and ordering parts. As the Apprentice Technician you will be working under our experienced Technicians to learn the trade and advance your career. The Apprentice Technician position is a great opportunity for someone who is interested in learning the automotive trade and becoming a certified Technician to join the evolving automotive industry.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist experienced technicians with inspections maintenance and repairs of vehicles
Follow companycreated checklists to inspect and test vehicles
Perform standard mechanical repairs such as changing brake pads oil changes etc.
Learn repair techniques under the supervision of Master Technicians
Write labor time and parts cost estimates
Test vehicles before and after repair procedures
Attach car batteries to inshop testing devices to determine functionality
Maintaing the shop and the tools within.
Qualifications:
Mechanical aptitude and interest in learning the automotive trade
Ability to follow instructions and work independently
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to lift and move heavy objects
