We re looking for a highly capable and detaildriven engineer with a strong background in servo motor design and precision gearbox integration for robotic applications. This role is at the core of our hardware development pipeline and will focus on the electromechanical engineering behind compact hightorque robotic joints.
Lead the design of custom robotic servo motors including stator/rotor layout magnetic tuning and coil winding optimization
Design and integrate gearbox systems (planetary harmonic cycloidal etc. for highefficiency robotic actuation
Perform multidomain modeling (mechanical thermal electrical) to optimize motor and gearbox performance
Collaborate closely with PCB software and control teams to meet fullsystem performance goals
Run FEA simulations (thermal structural magnetic) and guide prototype development and validation
Work with vendors to ensure design for manufacturability (DFM) of rotor/stator assemblies gearsets and mechanical housings
Troubleshoot and refine servo performance during benchlevel and system integration testing
Bachelor s or Master s degree in Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering Mechatronics or a related field
5 years of experience designing servo motors including magnetic circuit design rotor/stator construction and winding configurations
Expertise in gearbox design for robotic systems or motion control applications
Proficient in CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks Creo) and FEA tools (e.g. ANSYS JMAG or equivalent)
Solid understanding of torquedensity tradeoffs loss modeling and mechanical tolerancing impacts on control systems
Experience designing frameless or BLDC motors
Background in directdrive or backdrivable actuators
Familiarity with highprecision or highvolume manufacturing processes for electromechanical components
Prior work on robotic joints arms or humanoid applications
