This position of Plant Quote Engineer is located in Jasper IN and reports to the New Product Introduction Manager. Highlevel Statement of the Role:
Review and manage customer documentation for the quote process for quick and quoting material pricing and labor routing.
The Plant Quote Engineer is responsible to:
- Use SAP QuoteWin and Silicon Expert tools to manage and distribute data
- Manage SAP receipt of customer documentation
- Identify gaps/errors in customer RFQ documentation packages
- Communicate issues/status to appropriate KEI team to ensure all understand what is needed to begin material quote
- Familiar with materials and manufacturers of electronic components
- Skill to improve business processes
- Develop the most efficient and costeffective labor routing needed to manufacture assemblies
- Support plant and global quoting efforts
Shortterm to Mid Term: (0 to 3 months)
- Learn KEJ systems and controls by reviewing existing applicable processes SOPs quality systems and other relevant instructions.
- Demonstrate a general understanding of configuration management strategy and application.
- Demonstrate ability to navigate main transactions in SAP Salesforce QuoteWin and Silicon Expert including those necessary develop quote data.
- Work with others on the team while learning how to help handle customer data and interface with project teams.
Mid Term: (3 to 6 months)
- Competently apply Kimballs methods for developing quote data for material and labor quoting.
- Provide feedback to business development managers on quote data needs promptly.
- Provide monthly report out of accomplishments.
Long Term: (6 to >12 months)
- Work with business development and customer resolve all issues with quote data.
- Work with other disciplines within KEI to quote new business opportunities.
- Directly support enhancements and development of relevant business tools and systems.
