Description
Registered Professional Charge Nurse
DEPARTMENT: Nursing
POSITION: Registered Professional Charge Nurse (Rehab)
SUPERVISOR: Unit Manager
SHIFT: Fulltime; 7am to 3pm or 3pm to 11pm
PAY RATE:
7am to 3pm: $33.50$39.50commensurate with experience.
3pm to 11pm: $34.50$40.50commensurate with experience
SIGNON BONUS! $3500.00
Duties:
Processes new inpatient rehab admissions to the unit on a routine basis.
Establishes work assignments for unit nurse aides and supervises same to assure task completion.
Communicates information or data to Unit Manager and/or other disciplines when appropriate.
Responsible for the timely and accurate administration and documentation of physician ordered medications and/or treatments to assigned residents.
Maintains facility procedure for the ordering and receiving of physician prescribed medications.
Performs physical assessments diagnoses problems institutes a written care plan and evaluates response to the plan of care.
Documents and/or assures completion of documentation in electronic medical records in a timely fashion according to facility policy and procedure.
Communicates directly with Physician or Physicians Assistant regarding resident condition changes.
Transcribes Physicians/Physicians Assistants orders with licensed staff and assures proper interpretation and execution of same.
Participates in continuing education and inservice programs both within house and at outside seminars.
Consults with disciplinary team in establishing information notifications to family physician and/or administration.
Assesses environment and staff related problems devices intervention and evaluates outcomes.
Teaches and guides subordinates to assure that they perform according to the Sitrin Health Care Centers Policies and Procedures.
Performs duties according to the highest ethical and moral standards and in adherence with the facilitys corporate compliance plan and all applicable governing laws. Adheres to the facilitys confidentiality statement in accessing and safeguarding protected health information (PHI) of residents and employees as necessary to perform job duties.
Performs any other duties assigned by the Unit Manager or Director of Nursing.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Graduate of an approved/accredited School of Nursing and currently licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
Minimum one (1) year experience in the field of nursing geriatrics or a subacute setting preferred.
Leadership ability and effective communication.
Prior knowledge/use of Point Click Care medical record software preferred but not required.
