Animal Emergency & Referral Center of York is looking for aPartTime Weekend Technician to join us as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community.
As a PartTime Technician youll play an important role in pets lives by providing endtoend care for our precious patients. Your lifechanging work will range from the handson care of facilitating outpatient treatments and performing laboratory tests to support services including admitting and discharging patients.
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide immediate and intensive nursing care to emergency patients including triage stabilization and treatment
- Assist veterinarians with emergency surgeries diagnostic procedures and medical treatments
- Perform medical treatments
- Monitor and record vital signs administer medications and perform diagnostic tests such as blood work and radiographs
- Prepare and maintain medical equipment and supplies
- Communicate effectively with pet owners providing clear explanations and compassionate support
- Maintain detailed and accurate medical records
- Ensure a clean safe and organized work environment
- Manage time efficiently to prioritize multiple urgent tasks and ensure timely delivery of care
- Participate in continuing education and training to stay current with best practices and advancements in veterinary emergency care
- Veterinary technician licensure preferred but not required.
- 12 years of clinical experience
- An Associates or Bachelors degree from an AVMAaccredited veterinary technology program preferred; or the equivalent combination of education training and experience that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities.
- Crosstraining at the front desk is required and you may occasionally be asked to assist with CSR (Client Service Representative) duties.
