Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the design and development of mechanical components systems and assemblies from concept to production.
- Collaborate crossfunctionally with electrical firmware and software engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems.
- Utilize simulation tools to model and validate mechanical performance including structural thermal and kinematic analysis.
- Oversee prototyping testing and validation processes iterating designs as necessary to achieve performance targets and quality standards.
- Ensure adherence to project timelines and cost constraints identifying potential risks and proposing mitigation strategies.
- Mentor junior team members providing technical guidance and support to foster professional growth within the team.
- Stay uptodate on industry trends emerging technologies and best practices in mechanical engineering and manufacturing processes.
- Support manufacturing quality assurance and supply chain teams in production rampup and process improvements.
Qualifications
- Bachelors or masters degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
- More than 7 years of experience in mechanical design engineering preferably in relevant industry e.g. consumer electronics automotive. robotics etc..
- Strong proficiency with CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks CATlA Creo) and simulation tools (e.g. FEA CFD).
- Handson experience with prototyping and manufacturing techniques (e.g. CNC machining injection molding sheet metal fabrication).
- Excellent problemsolving project management and leadership skills.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to clearly convey complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
- Knowledge of applicable mechanical standards and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in relevant skills or sectors e.g. electric vehicles sustainable energy solutions smart lock etc..
- Background in design for reliability and lifecycle optimization.
